Grass Valley Police Department
The Grass Valley Police Department is a full-service, community policing organization. The department is comprised of 44 paid positions including 28 sworn police officers, 7 reserve officers, 3 animal control officers, and several civilian support staff. GVPD also has a volunteer program with 12 active volunteers who assist with police services.
Nevada County Consolidated Fire District
The men and women of this district recognize our responsibility to help ensure the safety of the people in our community. Nevada City Police Department
The members of the Nevada City Police Department take great pride in providing quality police services to the entire community of Nevada City. Officers routinely adjust their hours and work schedules to deliver 1st class service while minimizing cost.
Nevada County CHP
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) Grass Valley Area is dedicated to providing Safety, Service, and Security to the Sierra Foothills. As part of the CHP’s Valley Division, our office patrols the State Routes of 20, 49, and 174, as well as the unincorporated roadways of western Nevada County, northeastern Yuba County, and southwestern Sierra County.

Nevada County Sheriff’s Office
The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office is committed to providing excellence in public service in partnership with our community. Sheriff’s Services provide all the duties of Sheriff, Coroner and Public Administrator.

The men and women of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection are dedicated to the fire protection and stewardship of over 31 million acres of California's privately-owned wildlands. In addition, the Department provides varied emergency services in 36 of the state's 58 counties via contracts with local governments.

Nevada County Probation protects the community by supporting the courts and fostering positive change in the individuals we serve. The Nevada County Probation Department is an integral part of the Justice System, improves public safety by serving the courts and providing evidenced based practices and interventions.
